Changes to JohnGlidden.com

Hi, everyone!

I’m pleased to announce that JohnGlidden.com has expanded into the Vallejo Sun, an independent news publication covering the city of Vallejo and Solano County.

The Vallejo Sun is owned and operated by myself and regional reporters, Scott Morris and Brian Krans.

I started JohnGlidden.com as a way to address, as I saw, a lack of coverage regarding pertinent news items in the city I call home. That mission hasn’t changed. The staff at the Vallejo Sun is working hard to hold local officials accountable and bring you the most up-to-date information about Solano County and the city of Vallejo.

While fresh news won’t be published to JohnGlidden.com anymore, I hope you will continue to use this website as a resource.

Since starting JohnGlidden.com in August 2020, I’ve collected and posted employment contracts, severance agreements and other documents pertaining to the Vallejo City Hall government, the Vallejo school district, Vallejo public safety, and the Benicia city government. The pages are still a work in progress! I’m adding new content every month. But I hope this website will continue to be a valuable resource for the community. Want to take a look at the employment contract for Vallejo’s current interim city manager? I have it posted! What about the Vallejo Fire Chief’s contract; want to review it? I have that posted, too!!

As always, please, do not hesitate to contact me with any comments/concerns/or questions you might have. Tips are also welcome!

  1. I’ve just today become aware of your publication & I believe it is something Vallejo has needed for a long time. I hope to become a regular reader of yours. My husband &I live in the St Vincent’s neighborhood, specifically at the top of the Butte Street Stairs. I personally have lived here since mid 1995 and have seen so many things, as well as changes during this time, good, bad & in-between, which I would be happy to share if the current topics warrant. Best of luck in your ventures going forward.

(note: I moved to Vallejo in mid 1994, became involved with MIRA Theatre shortly thereafter & my husband worked for Zackit Electronics for many years & became a member of MIRA in 1995 where we met & eventually married in 2001.
