BENICIA – After three years with Benicia, Lorie Tinfow announced her resignation as city manager on Tuesday, the city announced.
The resignation came as the Benicia City Council was meeting in closed session Tuesday to discuss Tinfow’s performance; a normally routine practice which takes place annually.
“Lorie’s three plus years with the City has positioned Benicia well by attracting and developing quality staff, and responding to the COVID-19 pandemic to keep our citizens both safe and primed for a strong recovery,” according to Benicia Mayor Elizabeth Patterson in a city press release.
No reason was given for Tinfow’s decision.
Benicia police Chief Erik Upson has been tapped to serve as acting city manger.
