There are three open council seats during the November 2026 election: Districts 2, 4, and 5.
District 2 – North Vallejo is represented by Diosdado “J.R.” Matulac, who was first elected to the seat in November 2022. Matulac, a former member of the city of Vallejo Planning Commission, has opened a re-election campaign.
Also elected in 2022, was former Planning Commissioner Charles Palmares to represent District 4 – Downtown/Mare Island, and Peter Bregenzer to represent District 5 – Central Vallejo. Bregenzer is a former member of the city’s Architectural Heritage and Landmarks Commission
The upcoming election has already generated interest from the community with at least four persons opening campaigns to represent District 5. They include Tara Beasley-Stansberry, and Tanya Hall, who both ran for the District 5 seat in 2022. They are joined by Jared Bunde, and Rebekah Truemper.
Meanwhile Brianna Rogers is seeking election to District 4.
The general election is scheduled for Tuesday, November 3.
